KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the first time in program history, Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer team has earned inclusion in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll.
Following the conclusion of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament over the weekend, the Lions (16-6-4) rank 23rd in the final United Soccer Coaches Poll of the season. This fall, Penn State Harrisburg won a program-record 16 games, captured a second consecutive United East Championship, earned a pair of NCAA Tournament victories and advanced to the NCAA Round of 16 for the first time in school history.
As a team this season, the Lions ranked sixth in the nation in total assists (60), as well as 11th in both total goals (75) and total points (210).
Numerous players also earned individual accolades, with Diana Pon securing United Soccer Coaches All-America Third Team honors. Pon was joined by Mackenzie Mowery and Ava Myers as all-region selections, while nine players secured all-conference honors this fall. For his efforts leading the team this season, Penn State Harrisburg head coach Brandon West was named the United East Coach of the Year.Â
