KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Thanks to their stellar efforts this fall, a trio of Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer players in Diana Pon, Mackenzie Mowery and Ava Myers have earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors.
Pon was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region IV First Team, while Mowery secured all-region second team recognition. Myers earned a spot on the all-region third team for her efforts.
Pon turned in one of the best all-around seasons in the country this fall, ranking eighth in the nation in total points (48), ninth in total assists (12), 11th in game-winning goals (6), 14th in total goals (18) and 18th in shot accuracy (.676). The Miami, Fla. native set the single-season program record for points and assists and matched the single-season mark for game winners while ranking second in goals scored. Among active NCAA Division III players, Pon ranks fourth in career assists (33), ninth in total points (131) and 11th in goals (49). She completed her career as one of just five active players to record 40 goals and 30 assists. For her efforts, the team captain was named to the United East All-Conference First Team after twice being tabbed the United East Offensive Player of the Week.
Mowery, a United East All-Conference First Team selection, anchored a back line that posted 15 shutouts on the season and did not surrender a single goal in conference play. The Hummelstown, Pa. native helped limit opponents to just .78 goals and 5.3 shots per game. The senior also recorded six total points on the year, netting a pair of goals and adding two assists. She was named the United East Defensive Player of the Week in mid-October.
Myers was also a contributor to the defensive unit that racked up 15 shutouts on the year and held conference opponents to just four shots on goal during the regular season. In addition to her defensive prowess, the York, Pa. native got it done on offense as well, tallying 16 total points behind seven goals and a pair of helpers. For her efforts, the senior earned United East All-Conference Second Team recognition after being named the United East Championship Tournament MVP.
