CARLISLE, Pa. - Shooting struggles plagued Penn State Harrisburg's men's basketball team in a 66-53 non-conference loss at Dickinson on Wednesday night, Dec. 10.
Chris Henderson Jr. led the way with a team-high 16 points, four rebounds and three steals, while Antwone George added 10 points off the bench. The Lions (4-5) struggled to get going from beyond the arc, shooting just 17.6 percent from 3-point range (3-of-17), and finished just 12-of-29 (41.4 percent) from the charity stripe.
Dickinson (2-7) used a 9-0 run early in the opening half to pull out to a 17-8 lead at the 14:29 mark but Penn State Harrisburg battled back and pulled to within three following a Henderson 3-ball with 9:33 left in the first. Mason Pulliam buried a triple at the 5:40 mark to keep the visitors within four at 27-23 but the Red Devils closed out the half with a 7-1 run to take a 34-24 advantage into the break.
The home team opened the second half with a 5-0 spurt and pushed the lead to 39-24 but the Lions chipped away and put together a 10-0 run of their own that began with a pair of Maurice Davis free throws and ended with fastbreak layup from George off a feed from Andre Thomas III, slicing the deficit to 39-34 with 14:42 remaining.
After Dickinson pushed its advantage back to double digits, Penn State Harrisburg fought back again and used another 5-0 burst to pull to within 45-39 following a George transition layup off a Kevin Lucas Jr. find with 11:20 left to play. The Red Devils answered back, however, and built their lead back to double figures and held off the Lions the rest of the way.
