Women's Volleyball Keeps Rolling In Sweep of Wilson

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's women's volleyball team extended its recent win streak to four in a row thanks to a 3-0 sweep of United East foe Wilson at the Capital Union Building on Wednesday night, Oct. 22. The Lions earned the victory by set scores of 25-13, 25-11 and 25-14.


Hannah DeGregory led the way with 10 kills and 16 assists, while Camryn Wettstone and Brianna Ondishin Ribon added six kills each. Nicole Dos Santos recorded seven service aces, while Ribon tallied 11 digs, Mackenzy Miller racked up 15 assists and Tesia Oliva finished with three total blocks.


Penn State Harrisburg (15-5, 6-1 United East) jumped out to a 6-0 advantage in the opening set and never looked back. The Lions pulled ahead by double digits midway through the set during a Kate Bukowski service run and a DeGregory kill off an assist from Bukowksi made it 22-9. The home team eventually closed it out with an Ondishin Ribon blast off a Mackenzy Miller feed.


Set two saw the Lions get out to a 5-2 lead before stretching the advantage to as much as 19-10 following an Ellie Brown kill off a pass from DeGregory. Penn State Harrisburg scored the final six points of the set during a Dos Santos service run that included a pair of aces and kills from Wettstone, Brown and Ondishin Ribon.


The Phoenix (0-20, 0-7 United East) kept things close to begin the third and pulled ahead 6-5 but the Lions put together a key 10-4 run that ended with a Bukowski service ace that made it 15-10. Leading 19-14, Penn State Harrisburg closed things out with seven straight points, beginning with an Emily Miller kill and ending during a Dos Santos service run that included three aces.

- As a team, the Lions hit .413 on the night.
- DeGregory posted a double-double with 10 kills and 16 assists while hitting .529.
- Ondishin Ribon tallied 11 digs to go along with six kills
- Wettstone added six kills of her own.

- Dos Santos finished with seven aces on the night.
- Oliva and Emily Miller each had five kills, while Oliva added three blocks.
