ANNVILLE, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Lebanon Valley on Wednesday afternoon, October 15 at the Shankroff Tennis Center.
The Lions took the top doubles match, with
Damir Cuturic and
Cooper Wheeler topping Jesse Beck and Zach Schrader 6-2. In the No. 2 contest,
Ian Opitz and
Colin Flack were bested by Lebanon Valley's Adam Warren and Ethan Luu 6-2, while
Michael Rivino and
John McCarthy were defeated in the third doubles matchup.
In singles action, Wheeler and Cuturic impressed once again in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively. Wheeler secured a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Schrader in the top contest, while Cuturic also earned a victory against Beck 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 2 pairing. Opitz and Rivino both had competitive outings despite the outcomes that were in favor of the Dutchmen, with Warren taking a 7-5, 6-3 decision over Opitz and Jake Erb swiping a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Rivino. Flack dropped a 6-1, 6-2 outcome to Mason Dissinger in the No. 5 contest and McCarthy was unable to defeat Colin Brusse in the final singles pairing.
The Lions wrap up their fall competition when they host Stevenson at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Saturday morning, October 18.
