Eggleston, Douglas Propel Men's Basketball Past Penn College

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Propelled by big efforts from Isaiah Eggleston and Lance Douglas, Penn State Harrisburg's men's basketball team used a strong second half to open the new year with a 77-61 road victory over United East foe Penn College on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 4.

Eggleston led the way with a game-high 26 points on an efficient 71.4 percent shooting from the field, while Douglas was right there with him, netting 24 points and missing just two field goals during a 9-of-11 shooting performance. Jordan Spencer grabbed a team-best six rebounds and Larry Onabanwo dished out a team-high seven assists.

Trailing 50-46 with 14 minutes left to play, the Lions (7-6, 4-1 United East) put together a game-changing 19-2 run that began with a Douglas free throw following a technical foul and ended with a layup on the block from Eggleston off a Douglas assist with 6:50 remaining. During the pivotal stretch, Eggleston scored 13 points, while Douglas accounted for five and Dylan Moore added a foul shot.

Penn College (5-8, 3-1 United East) cut the deficit to nine with 5:56 to play but the that's as close as the home team would get as Penn State Harrisburg answered with three straight free throws from Eggleston and Douglas before Moore and Spencer put the game on ice with a trio of jump shots in the final 97 seconds.

The first half was a back-and-forth affair that saw neither team jump out to an advantage of more than five points. The squads traded the lead 10 times in the opening 20 minutes before a layup by Chris Henderson off a feed from Mason Pulliam put the visitors ahead 36-34 heading into the break.
