Men's Basketball Comes Up Short at Bryn Athyn

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's basketball team came up short in a 75-71 road loss to United East foe Bryn Athyn on Tuesday night, Jan. 14.

Isaiah Eggleston and Dylan Moore each netted a game-high 17 points, while Jordan Spencer recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Chris Henderson was the fourth player to reach double figures with 14 points.

Trailing by as many as 13 points with 15:26 left to play, the visiting Lions (9-7, 6-2 United East) battled back during an eight minute stretch midway through the second half, using a 21-9 run sparked by a Moore 3-ball and capped by an Eggleston layup off a Henderson feed to cut the deficit to 59-58 with 7:03 remaining.

Penn State Harrisburg remained within striking distance following a Henderson 3-ball that pulled the visitors to within two at 63-61 with five minutes left but Bryn Athyn (8-8, 6-1 United East) responded with six straight points to push the lead back to nine with 3:16 remaining. The visitors again pulled to within one possession in the final two minutes but the hometown Lions converted free throws down the stretch to hold off the Penn State Harrisburg charge.

Bryn Athyn got out to a 16-6 lead to begin the game but Penn State Harrisburg eventually pulled even at 21-21 at the 6:04 mark thanks to a Spencer free throw. The visiting Lions eventually pulled ahead for the first time just before the break when a Henderson layup off a Larry Onabanwo assist made it 33-32 heading into the locker room.
