Late Surge Pushes LVC Past Men's Soccer

Box Score

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Self-inflicted wounds cost Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer in a 2-0 setback at Lebanon Valley on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 7.

The Lions (2-1-1) were unable to capitalize on several early shot opportunities by Tai Bhalla, Colin O'Hara, and Jaden Longdon, two of which were saved by Dutchmen goalkeeper Dalton Fitterling. Lebanon Valley (3-1) and Penn State Harrisburg were evenly matched in the first half on both sides of the ball, as the Blue & White had five shot attempts and two saves and the Dutchmen had six shots and a pair of saves of their own.

The home team dominated the second frame and the squad was ignited by a goal off a free kick by Nathan Kimball that was from Dom Beddia and Jacob Kramer. Less than three minutes later, Lebanon Valley's Nathan Prex  added an insurance marker that proved to be enough to earn the 2-0 victory.

Penn State Harrisburg was given three total yellow cards during the course of the match, all of which were presented during the second half. The penalties, along with numerous other fouls, gave the Dutchmen all the momentum they needed to end the contest in their favor.

NOTABLES

- The Lions managed four shots on goal, with Bhalla accounting for two of them.

- O'hara and Aidan McWiliams got off one shot on frame each.

- Hossam Aly made six saves in the net for the away team.
