MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's volleyball team turned in a 3-0 victory over Moravian at the Capital Union Building on Tuesday night, Sept. 24. The Lions (8-3) secured the sweep thanks to set scores of 25-19, 27-25, and 25-18.

Camryn Wettstone led the Lions with 10 kills, while Ellie Brown added eight of her own on the night. In the setter position, Mackenzy Miller and Brooklynn Sheridan had a combined 31 assists. Defensively, Kate Bukowski posted 12 digs and Miller just surpassed the double-digit dig mark at 10 against the Greyhounds. 

Penn State Harrisburg got out to an early 7-1 lead in the first set and even extended the lead to 10 points halfway through. Although Moravian (9-6) tried to claw back late in the opening frame, it was not enough to earn the the win to start the night. The second set proved to be in favor of the Greyhounds from the jump, as the squad got out to a sizable eight-point lead that seemed like it was going to be too much for the Lions. 

The Lions never backed down in the second frame and it showed as the squad went on two separate scoring runs that tied the set at 23-23. Each team had an opportunity to take the lead and take home the game two victory, but it was Penn State Harrisburg who sealed the deal. Sheridan and Wettstone provided the two kills that the Lions needed before heading into the third frame up 2-0. The third set was a back-and-forth battle, however the home team earned gradual leads and that was the difference maker to secure the final frame of the evening 25-18. 

NOTABLES

- Penn State Harrisburg tallied 37 kills on 33 assists, and had 45 digs and seven service aces to round out the night. 

- Wettstone posted a team-high 10 kills, while Brown added eight and Emily Miller had a handful of her own. 

- M. Miller racked up 18 assists and 10 digs from her setter position. Sheridan had 13 helpers and Bukowski provided 12. 

- Brianna Ondishin Ribon was all over the floor against the Greyhounds, recording seven kills, six digs, three aces, and a pair of solo blocks.

The Lions are on the road on Thursday, Sept. 26 as they travel to Marywood for a non-conference matchup at 7 p.m.
