LANCASTER, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's cross country teams were back in acton at the annual Charger Invitational hosted by Lancaster Bible on Friday afternoon, Sept. 20. The women finished third out of five teams, while the men earned a fourth-place finish out of six competing squads. 

Destiny Samuels was the top finisher on the women's side in the 5K event, securing a top-10 finish in ninth place thanks to a time of 24:21.9. Melina Dhital was the second Penn State Harrisburg runner to earn a top-20 finish, as her effort of 27:26.8 was good enough for 16th overall out of 36 competitors. Daphnny Gomes and Layna Horner came home 23rd and 24th, respectively, while Isabella McGuire and Isabella Seibert rounded out the team's group of runners.

In the men's 5K race, Angel Patino was the top finisher for the Lions, with his time of 18:50.6 proving strong enough to earn him an 11th-place finish out of 54 total runners. Two more Penn State Harrisburg competitors secured top-20 finishes, with Jon Carnesi crossing the line in 16th and Zack Gibson finishing 20th overall. Benett Seiler came home 23rd and Kyle Davis finished 30th, while Tyler Price, Will Wang, and Ian Fong completed the Penn State Harrisburg contingency. 

Nearing the halfway point of the season, the Lions will return to action when they take part in Dickinson's Long/Short Invitational on Saturday morning, Sept. 28.
