LATHAM, N.Y. – Thanks to her near record-breaking performance over the weekend, Penn State Harrisburg's MaKayla Reichel has been named the United East Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.


Reichel turned in one of the best performances in Penn State Harrisburg history to lead the way for the women at the 42nd annual DeSales Invitational on Saturday morning, Oct 11. The freshman's outstanding rookie campaign continued with a sixth-place finish out of 82 total runners in the 6K event. The Landisville, Pa. native's time of 24:25.2 was the third-fastest effort in program history -– less than one second off the quickest time ever run.


With the regular season now behind them, the Lions turn their attention to the United East Championship event to be held at Penn State Brandywine on Saturday morning, Nov. 1.
