Balanced Attack Propels Field Hockey Past Moravian

Box Score

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's field hockey team got key contributions from numerous players in a 3-1 non-conference victory at Moravian on Wednesday night, Sept. 18.

Natalie Rocuskie tallied four total points on the night thanks to a goal and a pair of assists, while Rachel Lane and Alexis Nasuta each buried their first markers of the season in the win.

Following a scoreless opening quarter, the Lions (4-2) eventually struck first early in the second when Rocuskie converted a penalty stroke to put the visitors out in front in the 19th minute.

Penn State Harrisburg took advantage of penalty corners after the break and wasted little time doubling the lead early in the second half when Nasuta put her attempt past Moravian goalkeeper Maia Machado off a Rocuskie find just 2:27 into the third quarter. The Lions were back at it less than five minutes later, with the third penalty corner of the period leading to a Lane strike off another Rocuskie helper that stretched the advantage to 3-0 in the 41st minute.

The Greyhounds (1-5) eventually broke through when Samantha Culver got the home team on the board with a marker 2:30 into the fourth but despite three penalty corners for Moravian, Macenzie Mulholland and the Penn State Harrisburg defense kept the hosts from pulling any closer in the final minutes.
