WASHINGTON, D.C. - Behind big nights from Chris Henderson and Dylan Moore, Penn State Harrisburg's men's basketball team picked up a comfortable 80-66 victory over United East foe Gallaudet on Wednesday night, Dec. 4.
Henderson poured in a career-high 23 points on 72.3 percent shooting, while Moore finished with 15 points off the bench. Irby Hunter added nine points in a reserve role and Isaiah Eggleston tallied eight points and seven rebounds.
After the hometown Bison (0-8, 0-2 United East) got off to an 8-4 start, the Lions (3-5, 1-1 United East) put together a 12-0 run over the next three minutes capped by a tip in from Moore to grab a lead they wouldn't relinquish the rest of the way.
A Henderson free throw grew the lead to double digits for the first time at the 9:07 mark and a 16-5 spurt capped off by a Hunter layup gave the visitors their largest lead of the night at 37-16 with 3:19 left before halftime.
Gallaudet cut the deficit to 14 at the break but pulled to within less than 10 points just once in the second half. When the Bison made it 54-45 with 9:43 left to play, Penn State Harrisburg swung back, using 3-balls from Moore and Henderson and free throws from Jordan Spencer to quickly push the advantage back to 19 with 6:07 remaining.
Moore put an exclamation point on the outing with a transition dunk at the 2:58 mark before Henderson put a bow on his memorable night with another triple with less than 30 seconds left to play.
