Box Score MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team earned their second United East win of the season with a 3-0 shutout victory over Wilson on Wednesday night, Oct. 2.
The hometown Lions (9-3-1) used one first half goal and back-to-back makers early in the second to down the Phoenix (4-8-0) and hand Wilson their second conference loss of the year.
Tai Bhalla got the scoring started when Tyler Madiary served the ball into the box off a corner kick that Bhalla impressively headed past Wilson goalkeeper Logan Neves just six minutes into the contest. Penn State Harrisburg continued to put pressure on the away team, as they forced Neves to make three saves and earned seven corner kicks in just the first half.
It was all Colin O'Hara in the second half, as he netted a pair of goals that proved to be the last ones of the night and secured the 3-0 win for the Lions. In the 59th minute, Madiary sent another corner kick into the box when Alex Afata perfectly centered the ball to O'Hara which he sunk in the top right corner of the net. Just about five minutes later, O'Hara and Kobe Harris worked a give-and-go on the right side of the field which allowed O'Hara to send an absolute stunner into the opposite top corner to mark his second goal of the game.
Penn State Harrisburg's defense was stellar on Wednesday night, as the backline didn't allow a single shot on goal. The home team also dominated every major statistical category against the Phoenix, with 11 shots, eight shots on frame, and 11 corner kicks.
