Volleyball Drops Pair of Competitive Matches in New Jersey

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

CAMDEN, N.J. - Penn State Harrisburg women's volleyball team dropped two matches on Saturday afternoon, where the Lions battled against Rutgers-Camden and Wilkes.

The Lions (5-5) faced Rutgers-Camden (4-5) in the first match, which went a full five sets and ended in favor of the Scarlet Raptors (25-23, 22-25, 25-22, 21-25, 12-15). Due to a total team effort, Penn State Harrisburg was able to force the game into five sets, all of which were back-and-forth battles between the two teams. Seven different Lions had five or more kills during the match - Hannah DeGregory (11), Emmaline Stevens and Tiniira Tubo (9), Camryn Wettstone (7), Brianna Ondishin Ribon and Tori Henderson (6), and Katie Richardson (5). Not only did Richardson provide some kills, but she was stellar in the setter position as she had 37 total assists. On defense, Julia Choe and Stevens were responsible for more than half of Penn State Harrisburg's kills.

Penn State Harrisburg's second match of the day against Wilkes (4-4) was a competitive four-setter that unfortunately saw the Lions lose their momentum in the final set (25-20, 20-25, 20-25, 11-25). The Blue & White took the first set 25-20 thanks to impressive offensive outings by Tubo and Wettstone, but the Colonels came back swinging to take the rest of the sets in the game.
