Scott Surpasses 1,000 Points In Regular Season Finale

Box Score

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Zegary Scott III made history to lead the way for Penn State Harrisburg's men's basketball team in a 93-65 victory over conference foe Penn State Berks at the Capital Union Building on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 18.

Scott netted a team-high 17 points and became just the eighth player in the program's NCAA era to score 1,000 career points. Nate Curry finished with 14 points and six rebounds, while Chris Haynes added nine points.

Scott wasted little time reaching the milestone, as he scored eight of his team's first 19 points to achieve the feat with an old-fashioned 3-point play that made it 19-13 Penn State Harrisburg (15-10, 12-4 United East) at the 12:02 mark of the first half.

From there, Lance Douglas, Curry, and Malik Holland knocked down back-to-back-to-back 3-pointers to extend the lead to double digits while Penn State Berks (7-16, 5-11 United East) struggled to keep up with the home team's offensive output. The hometown Lions closed out the opening half with a 19-10 run capped by a Scott layup that stretched the advantage to 48-28 at the break.

Penn State Harrisburg scored the first seven points after halftime to keep the momentum rolling and a Douglas 3-ball off a Holland feed stretched the lead to 30 for the first time with 16:03 remaining. Later in the second half, Alex Leiba converted a layup before an Isaiah Milien triple pushed the advantage past 40 with less than 10 minutes left to play.
