Women's Soccer Rolls to Shutout Victory In Conference Opener

Box Score

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer team left no doubt in a 6-0 victory over United East foe Penn State Abington in the team's conference opener on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 17.

Kylee Altland had a hand in three goals, burying a pair of markers and assisting on a third, while Abigail Frew tallied three total points behind a goal and a helper.

Serenity Hill wasted less than five minutes getting the scoring started, as she converted the game winner just 4:39 into the contest off a find from Frew. Sarah Toche-Manley got into the scoring act in the 19th minute, finding the back of the net off a Kyla Brossoit assist, and Isabelle Toni increased the Penn State Harrisburg (4-1-2, 1-0 United East) advantage to 3-0 with less than two minutes left in the first half.

Altland sparked the team's second-half effort with a quick strike off a free kick following a foul from Penn State Abington (2-3-1, 0-1 United East) just 2:03 after the break. Altland found Frew late in the game and Frew finished it off with a strike in the 84th minute and Altland converted a penalty kick less than a minute later to put an exclamation mark on the day's scoring.
