Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's volleyball team swept United East foes Lancaster Bible and Penn College in tri-match action at the Capital Union Building on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 23.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lions (18-7, 4-1 United East) continued their strong play and extended their recent win streak to six thanks to victories over Lancaster Bible (9-12, 2-2 United East) and Penn College (1-13, 0-6 United East) on Saturday. Penn State Harrisburg swept the Chargers 25-16, 25-17, 25-13 before handling the Wildcats by 25-17, 25-14, and 25-15.

The Blue & White erased an early deficit in the first set against LBC and used a pivotal 8-1 run capped by an Olivia Koicuba service ace midway through the game to take control. A Cheyanna Buckingham kill off an Alyssa Snyder assist capped the first set win. The second set unfolded similarly with the Lions managing a 9-1 run punctuated by a Tiniira Tubo ace before Melanie Sheaffer eventually ended things with a kill off a Snyder feed. The third set was all Penn State Harrisburg, as the home team scored 13 of the final 19 points to take the set and the match.

Against the Wildcats, the Blue & White erased an early deficit in the opening set and closed things out on a 9-2 run that included three kills from Tori Henderson and a pair from Anna Ruff. The Lions jumped out to a sizable advantage in the second game and never looked back, leading by as many as 14 points. Penn State Harrisburg pulled away midway through the third set, extending a 10-9 lead to 18-10 following kills from Emmaline Stevens, Buckingham, and Snyder. The home team closed it out with a 7-2 run that secured the set and the match.
