How It Happened

For the second time in five days, Penn State Harrisburg battled to a double overtime draw with one of the top teams in the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC). The Lions earned a 1-1 tie at York (Pa.) on Wednesday night, Oct. 10.

It didn't take long for the Spartans (8-3-2, 1-0-2 CAC) to get on the board, as Barak Amige netted the game's first goal with a pretty strike that curved into the right side of the net from nearly 30 yards out in the eighth minute.

Harrisburg (13-1-2, 0-1-2) got off a pair of shots on target early in the second half but Spartans' goalkeeper Billy Bridegum turned both away before a corner kick from Chase Foster led to the game-tying score when Eric Caldwell converted his attempt off an assist from Christian Schmoyer with 25:59 left in regulation.

Blue & White goalkeeper Nicholas Guglielmetti was tough down the stretch, making a pair of saves in the final five minutes to keep things even and send the game to overtime.

The Lions' best scoring chance in either extra session came when Azeem Peters headed a ball towards the York (Pa.) net in the 93rd minute. Spartan defender Ethan Lloyd made a game-saving stop before Bridegum turned away a Schmoyer header moments later.
