Lions Fall to Alvernia

Reading, Pa.- The Penn State Harrisburg men's soccer team lost a difficult match tonight against Alvernia. The Nittany Lions lost 4-0 to the Crusaders.

 The game was very physical from beginning to end for both teams. Alvernia scored its first goal of the game in the opening three minutes. Nick Tait took a shot from the top of the box that was deflected off of a defender and into the net. The second goal for the Crusaders was scored by Kevin MacFarland off of a corner kick in the eighteenth minute of play. Alvernia went on to score two more goals in the first half. The third goal was scored off of a penalty kick given due to one of the Crusader's taken down in the box. Goalkeeper Brandon Hoover (Gap, Pa. / Pequea Valley) was able to get a hand on the shot but it was deflected into the corner. Penn State Harrisburg was able to keep a zero throughout the second half. 

 The Nittany Lions will return to play on Saturday September 19th. The men will host Albright with kick off scheduled for 2 pm.
