MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Capitol's basketball team returned home to the Main Street Gym to defeat the Delaware Campus of Penn State on Feb. 15.
The Lions led from the start, using their height advantage to win 88-78. Capitol jumped to a 10 point lead after five minutes passed in the opening half, but Delaware trailed by only 41-36 at the halfway point. The section of the scoreboard which registered Capitol's scoring would not work but it was repaired during halftime.
Delaware stayed close to the Lions during most of the second frame but Capitol opened up a 12 point lead with only five minutes remaining. The home team then held on to win by 10.
Paul Hook was the Capitol's leading scorer with 29 points and topped all rebounders by grabbing 17 boards. Rick Miller, a sharpshooting guard, had 21 markers while Steve Hutter had 17 points and 11 rebounds.
