Alma Mater - Franklin Pierce (1996)

  • Men's head soccer coach Seamus Donnelly is entering his fourth season as the Lions head coach.
  • The Penn State Harrisburg men's soccer 2012 season marked Coach Donnelly's debut campaign.  The former NCAA All-American and professional soccer player did well and took the team to the conference semi-finals by beating two time NEAC Champ SUNY IT in the first round of playoffs.
  • In 2013, Donnelly was the first coach to lead Penn State Harrisburg into Capital Athletic Conference Competition.
  • Donnelly began his soccer career as a youngster in his hometown of Dublin, Ireland.  He eventually came to the United States to attend Franklin Pierce University on a soccer scholarship.  The move paid off as Donnelly was named an NCAA Division II First-Team All-American in 1995 and Second Team-All American the following season.  He also earned Academic All-American status and was twice named the North Eastern Collegiate Conference’s (NECC) Player of the Year.
  • Following his graduation, Donnelly advanced to the professional ranks, including a stint with the Virginia Beach Mariners, where he became the team’s all-time leading scorer, and a national championship winning-season with the Charleston Battery.  In 2004, he joined the Harrisburg City Islanders where he eventually finished his playing career.
  • Donnelly has been the Director of Player and Coaching Development for the Penn Legacy Soccer Club since 2004 and was an assistant coach for Elizabethtown’s men’s soccer team starting in 2009.  The Blue Jays compiled an impressive 37-14-3 record during Donnelly's time on the coaching staff and he has earned the distinction of being a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) "Class A" licensed coach.
  • Penn State Harrisburg's man at the helm is currently working towards earning his Master’s Degree in Sports Management from Millersville University.  Donnelly currently resides in Lancaster with his wife Kristen, son Finnian,  and daughter Isla.
