Alma Mater - Lock Haven (BSBA 2011)   

• The 2014-15 season will be Mike Zito's first as a member of thePenn State Harrisburg coaching staff.

• Zito comes to Middletown after spending last season at St.Mary's (Md.).  The Seahawks went 19-8 in 2013-14 and earnedthree Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) postseason honors. Prior to his time at St. Mary's (Md.) he served as a graduateassistant at California University of Pennsylvania (2012-13).He also gained coaching experience as a student assistantat Lock Haven University.

• Zito served on the coaching staff of both the men’s andwomen’s basketball programs at Lock Haven. While working withthe women’s program, the Bald Eagles registered theirwinningest seasons since 2006-07. In 2011-12, Lock Haven featuredits first All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West selectionin five years and finished just two wins shy of making its firstPSAC Tournament appearance since 1991.

• A native of eastern Pennsylvania, Zito worked with the LockHaven men’s program for three seasons. While with the BaldEagles, he helped coach PSAC West Player of the Year BillyArre, who finished his career as the school’s all-timeleading scorer and plays professionally in Luxemburg.

• Zito has worked several basketball camps, including the BobHurley Basketball Camp, Hoop Group Skills Camp and Hoop Group JamFests.

• Prior to Lock Haven, Zito was member of district basketball andsoccer championship teams while at Notre Dame High School in EastStroudsburg, Pa.

• "I'm excited to have Mike join our staff," said Penn StateHarrisburg head coach Don Friday.  "I look forward to workingwith him as we build something special here at Penn StateHarrisburg.  Mike has worked for two outstanding coaches inthe college ranks who I have great respect for in Bill Brown atCalifornia State University and Chris Harney at St. Mary's(Md.)."

• Zito earned his bachelor’s degree in sport administrationfrom Lock Haven in 2011 and pursed a master’s degree in sportmanagement from Cal U.

• Zito currenltly resides in Middletown Pa. with assistantbaseball coach Carlos Medina.
