SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Records were broken and PR's were set by Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's outdoor track & field teams at the Mid-Week PR Bonanza hosted by Shippensburg on Thursday evening, April 16.
Landon Wheldon broke a pair of program records in the sprints, with his burst of 10.70 seconds in the 100m and his effort of 21.43 seconds in the 200m securing him a pair of top-10 finishes and putting him atop the school record book in both events.
Jonathan Luo also set a new Penn State Harrisburg record and earned a sixth-place finish thanks to his top bound of 14.00 meters in the triple jump.
On the women's side,
Shaeli McGeary smashed her previous top mark in the triple jump, with her best leap of 11.39 meters ranking third all-time in program history and securing her a fifth-place finish.
Katelyn Williams finished ninth in the javelin thanks to a top toss of 32.31 meters, while
Destiny Samuels ran a 1:02.08 in the 400m to secure 10th-place overall.
Some members of Penn State Harrisburg will compete at the 130th Penn Relays on Thursday, April 23, while others will head back to Shippensburg for the Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday morning, April 26.
