HAVERFORD, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's track & field teams continued to impress when they returned to action at the Seamus McElligott Invitational hosted by Haverford on Saturday, Jan. 24.

The women's squad was especially impressive, while the men continued their consistency through the early portion of the indoor campaign. On the women's side, a couple of throwers in Bassma Torky and Elaina Torta broke into the record books, as did jumper Shaeli McGeary, pole vaulter Katelyn Williams and distance runner MaKayla Reichel

Isabella McGuire was also strong, finishing fifth in both of the throw events.

The rookie also came home third in the long jump thanks to a bound of 4.51 meters. Williams secured a runner-up finish in the pole vault behind the best clearance of her career at 3.20 meters - a number strong enough to rank second all-time for Penn State Harrisburg.

Carson Villani secured a runner-up finish in the high jump with a top leap of 1.40 meters and Destiny Samuels finished fourth in the 200m with a sprint of 27.95 seconds.

A couple of runner-up finishes highlighted the men's side of things, with Andrew Geocos coming home second in the pole vault with a top clearance of 4.40 meters. Munther Ahmed also finished second int he high jump with a top bound of 1.65 meters, while reigning United East Men's Field Athlete of the Week Jonathan Luo securing third-place finishes in both the triple jump and long jump events.

Kadin Sodmont and Landon Weldon finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 200m and both were part of the 4x200m relay team that finished second thanks to a combined effort of 1:34.59.

Oluwadamilola Fagbolade and Connor Daubert each earned top-five finishes in the shot put in fourth and fifth, respectively, while Daubert just missed out on the top five in the weight throw, finishing sixth with a top effort of 13.95 meters.
