MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Thanks to their efforts on the field and in the classroom this spring, a trio of Penn State Harrisburg softball players have earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District recognition.

Olivia Herncane, Madelyn Lehigh and Carissa Yeager were recognized for their athletic and academic achievements during the most recent campaign.

The 2025 Academic All-District Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Herncane closed out her four-year career with a memorable senior campaign as she battled through injury to slash .212/.303/.271 with a .574 OPS. The senior became just the eighth player in program history to surpass 100 career hits after tallying 18 on the season, including a pair of triples and a double. She drove in a dozen runs and scored 11 more to go along with 12 walks. The State College, Pa. native completed her career ranked top-10 in program history hits (108), runs (79), RBIs (76), walks (50) and home runs (5). A Kinesiology major, Herncane was named to the United East All-Conference Second Team for her efforts.

Lehigh's latest plaudit is her third academic all-district accolade in as many years. She recently wrapped up the most-decorated career in program history with another excellent campaign, slashing .419/.486/.632 with a 1.118 OPS. She completed her career as the NCAA's active leader in triples (31) across all three divisions, ranked third in the nation with a .26 triples per game mark this spring and finished fifth in the country with nine total triples. Despite missing a handful of games due to injury, the senior racked up 74 total bases on 49 hits, including a home run and four doubles, to go along with 37 runs, 36 RBIs and 18 walks. The Harrisburg, Pa. native became the first player in program history to reach the 200-hit mark before finishing her career ranked eighth among active Division III players in runs (175), ninth in hits (236) and 16th in total bases (358). Lehigh closed out her career as the program's all-time leader in batting average (.468), on-base percentage (.534), slugging percentage (.710), hits, runs, RBIs (125), walks (71) and triples. The Human Development and Family Studies major was named to the United East All-Conference Second Team earlier this spring.

Yeager recently put the finishing touches on one of the best careers of any pitcher in program history. The Schuylkill Haven, Pa. native completed her career as the program's all-time leader in wins (40), appearances (98), innings pitched (381.2), shutouts (9) and saves (5). She also ranks second all-time with a 2.70 ERA and earlier this season, she became just the fifth player in program history to reach 200 career strikeouts. This spring, the hurler made 19 appearances with 10 starts, recorded eight wins and posted one shutout. She finished with a 2.46 ERA, 31 strikeouts and a 1.30 WHIP. The Kinesiology major was also consistently strong in the classroom and was the recipient of the 2025 United East Softball Elite 20 Award.
