LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to his record-breaking performance at Shippensburg last week, Penn State Harrisburg's Jonathan Luo has been named the United East Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week. 


Luo joins teammate Sean Myron as Penn State Harrisburg men's field athletes to earn the conference's weekly outdoor distinction this spring. 


Luo turned in two excellent jumping efforts at the Shippensburg PR Bonanza on Wednesday afternoon, April 16. The freshman won the triple jump after posting a top bound of 13.79 meters, breaking his own program record in the event in the process. The New Cumberland, Pa. native also finished fourth in the long jump, with his leap of 6.99 meters currently standing as the second-best mark in program history and the third-best mark in the Mid-Atlantic Region this season.


The Lions head back to Shippensburg to compete at the Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday morning.
