MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg inducted its second class of student-athletes into the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society at the Capital Union Building on Monday, April 21.
In order to be inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, a student-athlete must attend a four-year accredited college or university that is a member of the NCAA, NAIA, USCAA, or NCCAA. The honoree must also achieve at least junior academic standing by the fifth semester or seventh quarter, as determined by the certifying institution, and must have achieved a minimum cumulative grade-point average of a 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale).
Penn State Harrisburg inducted 42 student-athletes from 12 different teams on campus in a private ceremony at the Capital Union Building. Each inductee was given an official certificate and graduation regalia to be worn at their respective commencements.

Chi Alpha Sigma is a national organization comprised of unique groups of student-athletes, faculty, coaches and staff associated with athletics departments at four-year colleges and universities, whose purpose is to encourage and reward high academic scholarship of college student-athletes, encourage good citizenship and moral character, and to recognize the individual student-athletes and the athletics departments that support them in all their endeavors.
