MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's softball team secured a 9-3 victory over United East opponent Keystone on Wednesday, April.
Madelyn Lehigh and
Olivia Herncane were the headliners for the Lions, as Lehigh surpassed 200 career hits and Herncane recorded her 100th career hit.
Penn State Harrisburg (9-8, 3-2 United East) got on the board in the opening inning when Lehigh sent a triple down the left field line, which marked her 200th hit of her career. Keystone (3-10, 2-1 United East) answered quickly in the next inning with a single from Mara Brooks that tied the game 1-1.
Lehigh rocketed a home run to right field to score a pair of runs to open up the third frame before Herncane reached a milestone of her own with an RBI triple to right center that scored
Aspen Walker and tacked on another run. Lily Feltenberger added one more run for good measure to put the Lions up 5-1 going into the fourth inning.
The Giants found a bit of momentum in the fourth frame thanks to Isabella Mandarano and Kiara Taylor who scored a run apiece to pull within 5-3.
Elaina Gates earned an RBI walk in the bottom of the fifth prior to
Mackenzie Fisher sending a single to center field to score two additional runs.
Madisen Minney hit a single in the bottom of the sixth to help Penn State Harrisburg secure the 9-3 win over Keystone.

- Lehigh became the first Penn State Harrisburg player to reach 200 hits, as she now stands at 201 for her career.
- Herncane is the sixth player in program history to reach 100 career hits.
- Fisher, Lehigh, Walker, and Feltenberger all recorded two hits each against the Giants.
