SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's outdoor track & field teams wrapped up two days of competition at the Jim Taylor Duals hosted by Susquehanna on Saturday evening, March 29.
Tony Pelino led the way on the men's side, earning a runner-up finish in the pole vault with a top clearance of 4.30 meters; a number just .05 meters shy of his own personal best. Throwers
Sean Myron and
Connor Daubert also secured top-10 finishes, with Myron finishing ninth in the javelin and Daubert finishing ninth in the discus.
The men's 4x100m relay team of
Keegan Gray,
Kyle Davis, Stephen Bogovic and
Kadin Sodmont also secured a sixth-place finish thanks to a combined effort of 44.58 seconds, while
Jonathan Luo narrowly missed out on a top-10 finish in the high jump after a top leap of 1.84 meters.
Carson Villani made a splash on the women's side, earning an eighth-place finish in the high jump with her best bound of 1.48 meters standing as the second-best effort in the event in program history.
Katrin Cavanaugh secured a seventh-place finish in the pole vault with a top clearance of 2.90 meters, while
Elaina Torta used a toss of 30.06 meters to earn a top-15 finish in the discus.
Isabella McGuire was the team's top finisher in the shot put, as was
Isabella Seibert in the javelin.
A number of Penn State Harrisburg's field athletes will be back in action on day one of the Millersville Metrics on Friday afternoon, April 4.
